About Sunshine🌞
Helping children learn, grow, and thrive through whole-child education, meaningful relationships, and experiences that inspire curiosity.
When I founded Sunshine Integrative, it began with one simple belief: children deserve to be truly seen.
Seen beyond the business of the world. Beyond classrooms, expectations, and schedules. Seen for who they are, how they experience the world, and understanding that emotions and behaviors often tell us something important about what a child is experiencing.
For me, this belief is deeply personal.
I understand what it's like to have a sensitive nervous system—to feel everything deeply and to experience how stress can affect learning, confidence, and the ability to simply feel safe.
As a child, I didn't have the opportunity to learn in an environment that honored those needs. Alternative educational settings weren't available to me, and I spent years carrying the stress of trying to fit into a system that didn't always feel safe or supportive for the way I learned. It wasn't until much later in life that I began to understand my nervous system and learn how to heal it.
Looking back, I often wonder how different my educational experience might have been if I had been given opportunities to listen to my body's signals.
What if I could have stepped outside into nature to reset?
What if movement wasn't something to suppress, but something that supported my learning?
What if creating with clay, building with my hands, or simply taking a mindful walk had been recognized as part of the learning process instead of a distraction from it?
Nature became my refuge.
Nature showed me there was another way to learn, to heal, and to simply be.
I remember watching spiders patiently weave their webs, never rushing, never competing—simply moving with purpose and intention. In nature, nothing asked me to hurry. The trees, the birds, the insects, and the changing seasons reminded me there was another way to experience the world.
Nature taught me that growth doesn't happen through constant business. It happens through observation, curiosity, connection, and time.
That realization has stayed with me throughout my life.
It became the inspiration behind Sunshine Integrative.
I believe children deserve learning environments that recognize their individuality, nurture their strengths, and honor the connection between emotional well-being and learning. They deserve opportunities to move, create, explore, wonder, and follow their natural curiosity while developing the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
That doesn't mean removing challenge—it means creating environments where children feel safe enough to embrace challenge, supported enough to persevere, and inspired enough to discover who they are.
Whether through our Farm Microschool, Neurolearning Program, or Emotional Regulation Aide services, my hope is the same:
To create places where children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to become confident learners, kind friends, and resilient human beings.
We believe children flourish when caring families and dedicated educators work together. Our educational partnership brings together experienced professionals who share a commitment to whole-child learning, meaningful relationships, and creating environments where children feel safe to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Sabrina Parsons
Lead Educator
Sabrina Parsons holds a Bachelor's degree in Educational Studies from Arizona State University and brings experience working with children from preschool through high school in a variety of educational settings.
As an active member of the homeschool community, Sabrina has provided individualized tutoring, developed engaging curriculum, and guided students through personalized learning experiences that foster both academic growth and confidence. She has also served as an America Reads Tutor, Activity Coordinator, and Supervisor, where she supported students through individualized and small-group instruction while creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Inspired by Montessori and Waldorf principles, Sabrina believes children learn best through meaningful experiences that spark curiosity and encourage exploration. Using Harbor & Sprout Patchwork Studies as the foundation for integrated instruction, she thoughtfully weaves together language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts through nature-based, hands-on learning designed for multi-age learners.
Beyond the classroom, Sabrina's experience as a horseback riding instructor reflects her passion for experiential education, helping children build confidence, responsibility, patience, and problem-solving skills in supportive learning environments. She is CPR certified, holds an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, and is currently completing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) coursework to further expand her understanding of supporting diverse learners.
At Sunshine Integrative Microschool, we believe children thrive when emotional well-being and meaningful academics work hand in hand.
Our program combines Nicole Waters' expertise in whole-child development, emotional regulation, movement, and nervous system support with Sabrina Parsons' educational background in curriculum development, literacy instruction, and personalized learning. Together, we create an environment where children feel safe, supported, challenged, and inspired to grow.
By blending relationship-centered support with engaging, hands-on academics, we strive to nurture not only confident learners, but confident, capable children.
Everything we do is rooted in the belief that children thrive when they feel safe, connected, curious, and truly seen. These four guiding principles shape every learning experience, every relationship, and every interaction with the children and families we serve.
We believe education should nurture the whole child—not just academic achievement. We intentionally support cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and creative development so children can grow with confidence, curiosity, and resilience.
Children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and emotionally supported. Through meaningful relationships, mindfulness, movement, and emotional regulation, we help children develop the confidence and self-awareness needed to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
Children learn most deeply through hands-on experiences, exploration, creativity, and purposeful work. We create opportunities for children to ask questions, solve problems, discover, and connect learning to the real world in meaningful ways.
Learning flourishes within strong relationships. We intentionally cultivate a supportive community where children, families, and educators work together with kindness, respect, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping every child grow.
At Sunshine Integrative Microschool, we believe trust is earned through experience, transparency, and a commitment to every child's well-being.
